Shower Thoughts

February 20, 2019

A combination of intimate size, water, steam and heat, in the confines of a curtain, glass wall, or what have you - this seems to transport people into a deeper state of thought sometimes. Perhaps its because its the one place where you are truly left to sulk in your own cranium, especially nowadays when we are constantly interfacing with a screen or electronic of some sort. Even when people say they are “relaxing” they are still mindlessly scrolling through content on their phones, not letting their own thoughts pave the way but rather an external source.

More than the combination above mentioned, its most likely that its a time when you are solitary, left to your own thoughts to wander. Stories have it that SpaceX and Tesla were born out of the shower, however I will have to confirm when I one day get to meet Elon Musk.

Next time you look up at your surroundings at an event, work, lunch or anything where you don’t need to focus intensely on something (such as getting your work done) I think we should all take a minute or two and just let your mind drift into thought. There doesn’t need to be an end location, but rather just a starting line. After that - the world is yours, let your mind break from the regular train of thought once in a while.
